About the Course

Hands-on demonstration of Japanese stitch bookbinding. This method creates beautiful, hand-sewn books. Perfect for journals, sketchbooks, or notebooks for testing all the new ink you will get at the show!
Materials provided include high quality paper, waxed thread, needles, and decorative covers. Participants will learn step-by-step how to bind their own books using traditional techniques.

Alexandra is a junior at MICA in Baltimore getting a BFA in ceramics with a Minor in Book arts and Masters of Art Education. She made 45 hand-stitched zines for a screen-printing class and has a passion for teaching others about bookbinding.
